Sofascore: adding a match to your calendar

As a personal project, I explored a user experience improvement for the Sofascore app: a new feature to add a match to your calendar.

Result

I designed the screens for adding a match to the calendar: a button on the match list and match page, a confirmation, month and day views. The goal: never forget a match again.

The project in detail

Context

A one-week personal project: a feature proposal for the Sofascore app. It wasn't commissioned by Sofascore.

Problem: Users had no way to schedule a match from the app so they wouldn't forget it. A feature to add a match to your calendar was missing.

Key decision

Let users add a match to their calendar directly from the app, where they're already looking: on the match list and on the match page.

Approach

  1. Framing the need: scheduling a match from the app, without leaving it.
  2. Designing the add-to-calendar flow, from the match list and the match page.
  3. Figma mockups of the screens in the app's style: add button, confirmation, month and day calendar views.
Three screens: a match page with the add-to-calendar button, the “Added” confirmation and the monthly calendar view.
The add flow: match page, confirmation, month view.

What it shows

I can add a feature to an existing product without breaking what works: a button placed where users are already looking, in the app's style.

Learnings

This project taught me that a small, well-placed feature can fix a real problem of forgetting. Working within an existing product's rules forces you to be precise, not to redo everything.
