Les Petits Brins d'Olivier: redesigning and launching the website

I led the redesign of an illustration shop's website: a UX/UI audit of the old site, competitive research, then a new WordPress site with a reworked design and usability.

Result

I delivered the new WordPress site and launched it: home, shop, category pages. Over the 3 months after launch, site traffic grew by 25%, measured with Jetpack.

The project in detail

Context

Les Petits Brins d'Olivier is an online illustration shop. The project lasted 3 months, from needs analysis to the launch of the new site.

Problem: The old site wasn't accessible and had bugs on several pages. It had to be rebuilt. The UX/UI audit identified its areas for improvement.

Key decision

Rebuild the whole site rather than fix the old one. The bugs affected several pages. So I designed a new WordPress site, structured around the shop and category pages, and refined it with user feedback.

Approach

  1. UX/UI audit of the old site to identify areas for improvement.
  2. In-depth competitive research across the sector.
  3. Creating the visual identity, then designing the entire site on WordPress, improving its design and usability.
  4. Creating posts and videos to engage the community.
  5. Regular conversations with users to refine usability and features, up to launch.

What it shows

I can take a product from start to finish: starting from an audit of the existing site, designing it on WordPress and launching it, refined with user feedback.

Learnings

I learned that a live site forces you to make choices. Talking to users often during design saved me more time than searching alone for the perfect design.
