The project in detail

Context

A personal app concept, done in 1–2 weeks.

Problem: I'm a huge football fan. Outside social media, I had no platform to react to the news, challenge other fans or read up on the latest matches.

Key decision

Split the app into three spaces, one per use: follow matches, challenge each other, stay informed. The daily quiz and the leaderboard give fans a reason to come back.

Approach

  1. “Matches” lists all finished and upcoming matches, with detailed stats covering the major leagues.
  2. “Games” lets fans challenge each other on daily quizzes, with a leaderboard and rewards to win.
  3. “Locker Room” gathers the latest football news.

What it shows

I can structure an app around distinct uses. Three clear spaces (Matches, Games, Locker Room) and quiz and leaderboard mechanics to make people want to come back.

Learnings

I learned that being your own user is a starting point, not a validation. My needs as a fan aren't enough: they have to be tested against other fans.
